I was debating over whether or not to mention this because a.) I know how my sisters feel about motorcycles and b.) I know how my sisters feel about me riding on motorcycles with strange guys in Africa. But hey, I thought this was interesting.
So I was headed to the church building to meet some girls that were going to help me get to Accra for a talk by Sister Beck, the general Relief Society president for the LDS church. I don't usually walk alone, but when I do It get a lot more attention. This one guy started talking to me and walking next to me and when I tried to get a taxi he said he would take me. Kinda like public transportation, right? I mean, I get in taxis with strange men all the time. So he gave me this cool bag and we rode on his motorcycle to church (saved me a few bucks too).
Bad side to this story, he totally wants me. He said it's his dream to be with a white woman and when I offered to pay for the ride he said, "I don't need your money, I need you." But, he seems pretty harmless. Really.

kelli, that's pretty creepy, I think Kristin might have an aneurysm when she reads this!!!!!
This post made me laugh out loud.
Kelli, that is the funniest/creepiest thing I've ever heard. I laughed for about five minutes and when I told my roommate here in Spain she made an "I'm totally scared about that" face which made me laugh harder. Your adventures complete me.
I think the helmet is the LEAST of your worries. I can see, now, why you need the boyfriend in the US. So THIS is why you kept putting me off when I kept asking how you got to Accra. You are clever. You counted on my bad memory when you kept saying "I already told you, and I can't affort to repeat stuff". I may have a bad memory, but I THINK I would remember you riding on a motorcycle with a strange african who wants you. My memory is not that bad.
KELLI!!!! I'm not going to ask if you're crazy because I already know the answer to that question if you hopped on a motorcycle with a crazy African man who's dream is to be with a white woman!!!!!!! HELLO!! I better never hear of this kind of story again! I think it's time you come home! The heat has gotten to you!
Be Safe Crazy Girl!

Kelli,
Your Mom just sent me your blog and all I can think to write is what the frikkity frak were you thinking? The helmet should have been the least of your worries!
When Chris was telling me the story, I think I had the same look on my face as Cassi's friend.
Take care, have fun, be safe and I look forward to reading more about your safe adventures. Did I mention the word safe?

(In case you are wondering who I am, I work with your Mom.)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Enough said.
Oh yeah, and I will GIVE you the extra money they charge you for cabs you ding-a-ling! Just tell me how much to put in your bank account.
Or you could find out from a local what the fare SHOULD be and then just tell the cabby that that is what you are going to pay him. What's he gonna do? Refuse your money?
I repeat: AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Kelli, when I was first getting to know your Mom I was on my way to school one morning and spotted her hitching. I picked her up and I think I probably gave her a pretty hard time. She told me she had hitched lots of times. She was 18. As far as I know that was the last time. So I guess you come by it honestly, however I'm certain that will be your last time. RIGHT? YOUR LOVING FATHER!
